Curriculum Vitae

  • Study of law at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe-University in Frankfurt/Main.; afterwards PhD in law and legal clerkship at the regional court in Darmstadt. For the whole duration of study part-time work at the university (undergraduate assistant and research assistant) and as a research fellow at a law-firm focusing on Civil Law.

  • After the second state exam lawyer at a major law firm in Frankfurt/Main, working in Commercial Criminal Law.

  • Following this, assistand professor at the Institute for Criminal Law and Legal Theory at the University of Freiburg i.Br. (supervisor, Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Frisch); intermitted by a habilitation stipend granted by the German Research Foundation.
    Habilitation und licence to teach Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure Law and Legal Philosophy.

  • Replacing the Chair of Criminology and Commercial Criminal Law (Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. mult. Klaus Tiedemann) at the University of Freiburg for two semesters; followed by a replacement of the Chair of Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure Law at the University of Erlangen.

  • Afterwards state attorney and thereafter criminal judge in Berlin.

  • After rejecting a professorship for Crimnal Law and Legal Philosophy at the University of Munich appointment to the Chair of Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure Law at the University of Göttingen (following Prof. Dr. Fritz Loos) in the winter semester 2006/07.
