The Student Identity Card of the University of Göttingen

Every student receives his or her student ID chip card at the chip card office in the main lecture hall building (ZHG). The chip card for students of humane medicine differs in appearance from the general one. Students can go to the chip card office in the ZHG to have their card renewed and to get new PINs and TANs for the self-service functions.

Where:The chip card office is between lecture halls 010 and 011

Opening hours:
Monday to Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The smart card has the following functions:

• Göttingen discount offers (only valid if Göttingen is your main residence)
• Paying at the cafeterias
• The chip card is no copy card!
• Library card for the SUB
• Semester ticket
• ID card (with photo)
• Loss / theft of the chip card
• Admission to the sports facilities at the Institute for Sports Science
• Admission card in the faculties of physics, medicine, and biology
