Our doctoral studies combine highest academic level and specialized courses with attractive, modern research topics. Göttingen Chemistry´s research focusses on “Functional Biomolecular Chemistry”, “Sustainable Chemistry” and “Analytical methods on molecular interaction”. This opens a wide range of possible Ph.D.-projects for you.

During doctoral studies, the PhD students work in depth on a current research problem in chemistry under guidance of a supervisory team consisting of experienced professors. In addition, they advance their knowledge in special lectures, during conference visits, etc., where they present their research findings. PhD students benefit especially from a close link between chemistry and its related subjects as well as the Max-Planck Institutes on the Göttingen Campus. Depending on the individual focus, different doctoral study courses or programmes are available.
