RTG 1723 - Globalization and Development


The RTG is a cooperative research and Ph.D. training group of the Leibniz Universität Hannover and the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen and is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG).

Under the roof of the RTG twelve professors of the cooperating universities collaborate on research and Ph.D. training in the field of globalization and development economics. The RTG started in April 2012 with training about 15 Ph.D. students as its first cohort. The second cohort of Ph.D. students started in April 2015. The activities of the RTG are complemented by the clusters in development economics of both institutions.

12 PhD positions: Starting date 1 April 2018

The Georg-August-Universität Göttingen and the Leibniz Universität Hannover offer a PhD program in Development/ International Economics to outstanding young graduates.

12 Doctoral Researchers in Economics with the Focus on Development / International Economics will have the possibility to join the Research Training Group (RTG) “Globalization and Development” (GLAD) funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG). The positions should be filled by 1 April 2018.

GlaD Conference 2018

The Research Training Group "Globalization and Development" (GlaD) and the Research Project on "Reducing Poverty Risk in Developing Countries" are organizing an international conference, to be held on May 3-4, 2018, in Göttingen, Germany.
