Consumer protection in civil law

The research project concerns the consumer protection in German civil law. It will be examined, which measures were taken for the individual and collective consumer protection on the level of legislation as well as on the level of access to justice, both before and after the beginning of the European integration process.
Therefore the changes of substantive law and the development of consumer dispute settlement are to be regarded, the reasons for their development will be pointed out and the consequences for the conception of consumer protection in civil law will be shown.
