The survey tool in Stud.IP

Description

A survey allows you quickly to check the opinions of your students.

The survey tool in Stud.IP can quickly and simply create brief surveys. There are questions with multiple or single correct answers. These are then sent via Stud.IP to the students to ask their opinion. The results are stored in Stud.IP and then analysed. After the deadline passes you can see the analysis of the results. It is also possible to see interim results.

Advantages

One major advantage is that students’ opinions can be obtained relatively quickly. Automatic analysis and summary of results by Stud.IP is also an advantage.

Potential scenarios

The survey tool can be helpful in the following scenarios:

  • Planning an appointment (replacement for a cancelled meeting; excursion date; inviting an expert). Students can select the appointment that suits them best from a list. Then the appointment is set.
  • Choice of (additional) course topics. You can propose a selection of topics for the students and then select them according to the level of interest. Using the survey results you can then plan how to proceed with the course.
  • Introduction for a discussion in face-to-face teaching. Set a (provocative) question and use the results in your next classroom session as an introduction to a discussion.

Tips

The survey tool is not suitable for complex surveys. If you need to make a detailed evaluation and get an in-depth view of your students’ opinions, please see “Evaluation”.

The strengths of this survey tool are its brevity and rapidity. You cannot ask more than one question.
