The Georg-August-University Göttingen under maintenance of a foundation under public law is obliged acc. to § 58 par. 4 Lower Saxony Higher Education Act to apply the wage contracts applicable for employees of the state Lower Saxony and other provisions. Employment contracts of the regular employees to the University are thus subject to the Collective Bargaining Agreement for the public service of the States of the Federal Republic of Germany (‘Tarifvertrag für den öffentlichen Dienst der Länder’ – TV-L) as well as complementing and replacing wage contracts by force of contractual agreement. The University Göttingen also applies the Special Wage Provisions for Employees in Higher Education and Research Facilities acc. to § 40 TV-L.
