Beschreibung The transit method is a valuable tool for the detection of exoplanets, with the most detections of all methods. The PLATO space mission will make use of it by observing different star fields with as many as 24 of its 12 cm aperture cameras. The highest priority (P1) stellar sample contains more than 15,000 stars of spectral types F5-K7. There are two proposed observation strategies for the two long duration observation fields, the 2 yr + 2 yr observing strategy and the 3 yr + 1 yr strategy. I will present results from simulations with PSLS (PLATO Solar-like Light curve Simulator), Wotan and TLS (Transit Leasts Squares) regarding true positive rates and the yield of Earth-like planets orbiting in the habitable zone of sun-like stars. Furthermore, I will compare 2 yr and 3 yr observations with respect to their detection rates, and the 2 yr + 2 yr and 3 yr + 1 yr observation strategies in terms of Earth-like planet yield.
