The faculty offers a structured Ph.D. programme. Before starting the application process, however, potential doctoral students are first required to identify a supervisor for their thesis.

To fund themselves, doctoral candidates can for example work as research associates at one of the faculty's chairs or in a third-party-funded research group or research project. Consequently, you would have to apply for according job offers.

Writing a thesis while working and funding yourself independently is also possible. There are no university-based scholarships, but there are many grants that one could apply for, such as at the German Academic Exchange Service.

If you are interested in applying for a Ph.D. position, please carefully read the following brief information for Ph.D. applicants.
