Analysis of Land Use Change in the Vicinity of the Lore Lindu National Park, Central Sulawesi, Indonesia

Abstract:
The aim of the study is to analyze the patterns and underlying drivers of land use change and deforestation in the vicinity of the Lore Lindu National Park, Central Sulawesi, Indonesia. It helps to identify policies, which are able to foster economic growth and to reduce deforestation. The study combines primary data from a village-level survey with geo-referenced data on land use and other geographic characteristics of the landscape. As a novel feature we will base our analysis on village level panel data rather than recall data. The different data sources will be pooled in a spatially explicit multinomial logit regression model.
