Attitudes of the German Public Towards Food Security

Abstract: Food security is back on the policy agenda and is also being widely discussed in the wider public. However, the public debate seems to be dominated by entrenched views about the causes of hunger and suitable approaches to improve food security. This project carries out online-based surveys to better understand attitudes and how they are shaped. This is contrasted with expert opinions. One focus is on what food security means for global agricultural development and in how far the agricultural and food sector in Europe should be adjusted to future challenges.
