SFB 1073 Atomic scale control of energy conversion

B09 Transport properties of electron-phonon coupled systems (Heidrich-Meisner)
This project studies the transport properties and charge-carrier relaxation dynamics in electron-phonon coupled systems. We will employ computational many-body methods to address these main goals: non-equilibrium transport in heterostructures with polaronic charge carriers, the melting of charge-density wave states after optical excitations, the computation of the optical conductivity in electron-phonons systems and the development of efficient numerical finite-temperature methods.
