Titel: Fast imaging and molecular movies - X-rays or electrons ?

Inhalt:
The XFEL has opened new opportunities for imaging molecular dynamics, as "the fastest camera in the world", with femtosecond "shutter speed". I'll review the compact XFEL under construction at ASU, and the use of a crystal as a wiggler. I'll compare scattering mechanisms and times for X-ray and electron pulses for out-running radiation damage, and describe future plans for making movies of protein dynamics at XFELs within the NSF's BioXFEL consortium of universities in USA.
