The Research Training Group “Expert Cultures from the 12th to the 16th century” was set up on April 1, 2009 with the support of the DFG. Here, 16 doctoral students and 1-2 post-docs from various fields of cultural history are given the chance to explore the early history of expertise in premodern “Latin” Europe under the instruction of nine Goettingen-based senior researchers and one associated member based in Berne.

For details on the group’s guiding interest, its research programme and studying scheme, please browse the following pages. Here you also find information on current holders of scholarships, the group’s current activities and the senior researchers involved in the project.
