honorary doctorate for Professor Dr.Dr.h.c.mult. Martin Tamcke
On 27th / 28th January 2016 Professor Dr.Dr.h.c.mult. Martin Tamcke will receive the title of honorary doctorate from the University of Craiova in Romania. The last title of honorary doctorate has been awarded to an Israeli academic several years ago by the University of Craiova, which is located in the most important city in the region of Oltenia.
Professor Tamcke will be honored in recognition of his commitment to the dialog with the orthodox churches and his researches on the orthodox histories, theology and spirituality. Beyond his professional research work, his relentless dedication for the Christian minorities in the Middle East (Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, Turkey, as well as India und Ethiopia) has made him furthermore an internationally renowned and honored specialist. Professor Tamcke has gained trust of his partners in the Orient and Eastern Europe and his expert knowledge has now initiated the establishment of his academic research interests in a number of countries.
In Romania a number of works from Professor Tamcke have already been published in the translation of Romanian.
