The Faculty introduces itself

The University of Göttingen (Georg-August-Universität) was founded in 1737 in the spirit of the Enlightenment. The movement had a decisive influence also upon the Faculty of Theology which, according to the custom of the time, was the first among the faculties in Göttingen. Annual Meeting International Society for the Study of Medieval Theology at Göttingen

The conference will be devoted to the topic of "Theology and Education in Medieval Times".
The meeting will be organized in cooperation with the Research Centre Education and Religion From Early Imperial Roman Times to the Classical Period of Islam (EDRIS). Two other centres of Göttingen university, the Centrum Orbis Orientalis und Occidentalis (CORO) and the Zentrum für Mittelalter- und Frühneuzeitforschung (ZMF), are involved as well.

In support of young scientists and scholars, the Presidential Board of the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen announces that scholarships for young female academics are available in the context of the research-oriented standards on gender equality set out by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (German Research Foundation).
