During the first week of the summer and winter semester new students in the Bachelor's and Master's programmes as well as those students who have switched to the University of Göttingen will be supervised by tutors of the orientation week held by the Faculty of Economic Sciences. The core of this activity includes information on studies and creating a course schedule, examination regulations and information on everything the University of Göttingen and the city have to offer to the students.

These events aim to optimally prepare you for your studies as well as introduce you to the University and the city of Göttingen. During the introduction week, there will be many informational events, a library tour and a chance to speak with the lecturers.

Students always appreciate the city rally, the night walk as well as the big beginner’s party as great occasions to get to know each other.


The welcome event

The orientation week organized by the Faculty of Economic Sciences traditionally starts with the welcome event. In the summer semester 2012, it will be held on Monday, April 16, 2012.

Introductory courses for the study programmes

During the orientation week, an introductory course for all study programmes (Bachelor & Master) will also take place on Monday, April 16, 2012 from 2 to 3 pm. All first-year students are invited to take part in this event.

The introductory course for the Master's degree programme Development Economics takes place on Monday, 16 April 2012, in room VG 4.107 (Verfügungsgebäude, Platz der Göttinger Sieben 7, 37073 Göttingen) from 1 to 3 pm.
