Welcome to Göttingen! Right before the start of orientation week, the WiWi Student Council offers all Master's students an introductory programme (in German) to help them get to know their fellow students, the university and the city of Göttingen. You can find out more about the programme on the Student Council website. The Incoming Office Team offers a separate welcome event for our international (exchange) students. The orientation week (in German) for our new students will take place from 9 to 17 April 2026 (the ZHG Party will take place on 24 April). is organised by the WiWi-O-Phase team. It begins on 9 April at 08:30 with a welcome event (room: tba / campus map). You can find out more about your orientation week on the WiWi-O-Phase e.V. website. As part of the orientation week, the WiWi Student Advisory Service will also be giving a presentation on 9 April, 15:00, on the general topic of ‘Things you should know about your studies’. The lecture will cover: explanations of the examination and study regulations (repeating examinations, improving grades, deleting grades, internships during your studies, 4th examination attempt, final failure), organisational matters relating to your studies, key competence courses and counselling services at the University of Göttingen. The room will be announced at a later date. You are also welcome to take a look at the University of Göttingen's starter kit particularly if you did not complete your bachelor's degree in Göttingen.
