Dr. Ngoc-Ha Thuy was awarded the prize of the German Society of Animal Breeding (DGfZ) for the best dissertation in the year 2016
Dr. Ngoc Thuy-Ha has received this year's award of the DGfZ for the best PhD in Animal Sciences for her dissertation entitled "Lost in Transition - Genetic, transcriptomic and Breeding Aspects of Metabolic Robustness in Dairy Cows". In her work which was carried out in the Animal Breeding and Genetics group, Dr. Ha has addressed the problem of energy deficit and resulting metabolic disorders in early lactating cows. She studied the problem under three methodologically very different points of view and developed new approaches for breeding solutions to this problem.
Wolfgang-Wetzel Award goes to Nadja Klein
Wolfgang-Wetzel-Award of the German Statistical Society for the year 2015 goes to our graduate Dr. Nadja Klein for her paper "Bayesian Generalized Additive Models for Location, Scale and Shape for Zero-Inflated and Overdispersed Count Data" (Journal of the American Statistical Association) which can be downloaded here.
