Donations, foundations and legacies for the benefit of the University of Göttingen have a long tradition.

As long ago as in the 18th century gifts from former students and scholars contributed to the University’s good reputation. For example John Pierpont Morgan gave considerable sums of money to the library in the Pauliner church and left his alma mater a rare collection of black-and-white photographs. In the 1920s the Mathematics Institute was established with the aid of the Rockefeller Foundation and the Krupp Foundation. Up to the present day there are many givers and donators who give the University smaller or larger gifts.

Following this long and successful tradition the President’s office and the Department of Human Medicine have established a central office to co-ordinate ways of supporting the University.

It is our job to further contacts with givers, donators and sponsors and create long-lasting partnerships with you for the future.
