The University Library is one of the five largest libraries in Germany and is accessible to all students, and academics. The main building on the central campus is open daily and has individual and group workstations. There are 143 more sub-libraries at the individual institutes and departments.
The libraries of the Max Planck Institute (MPI) are primarily intended for employees of the MPI. Guests can use the inventory of books during working hours and copy or view them on-site (reference (no-loaning) library).
The city’s public library “Stadtbibliothek” offers the citizens of Göttingen a wide range of fiction. It also has a small inventory of books in English. A library pass costs € 17.00 per year.
Internet accounts for students and academics feature a comprehensive service package as well as the option to participate in computer courses.
