Basic Studies and Main Studies

GrundstudiumThe Institute’s Professors of Public International Law and European Law regularly give lectures for both study levels in the field of public law. These, along with procedural basics, comprise constitutional law (State organization law, basic rights), general administrative law, selected components of special administrative law, and fundamentals of European law and public international law. In addition, the “Große Übung im Öffentlichen Recht” is also regularly lectured.

This Institute will not give any lectures for the Basic and Main Studies in the Summer Semester 2018.

Specialization 5: International and European Public Law

The Specialization 5 comprises general public international law, European law, international economic law, as well as European and comparative constitutional law. In order to complete the specialization, two thesis (seminar paper and student research project) are to be written. As a precondition, a preparatory seminar paper must have been successfully drafted. Many lectures are also given in English and by visiting professors. A student successfully participating in English may additionally obtain a certificate of foreign language as required for the German State Exam. When participating in a Moot Court hosted by the Institute, the student may equally attain a certificate of key qualifications, also as required for the German State Exam.
