Reena James, MA EuCu

Reena was born in Kerala, India but spent most of her life in Germany. After finishing German high school she spent a year in Lincoln, Massachusetts where she worked as Au-pair, attended College and enjoyed traveling extensively throughout the country.
She obtained her B.A. in Cultural Studies from the University of Paderborn majoring in English, American and Spanish Literature and Culture. Her first Erasmus experience also falls in this time when she spent a semester abroad at the University of Santiago de Compostela in Spain. During her Bachelor studies she was active in the establishment of the Model United Nations Group PaderMUN at the University of Paderborn and took part at the conferences NMUN in New York and WorldMUN in The Hague. After working at the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and interning at sequa gGmbh in Bonn she pursued her Master’s Degree in the Euroculture Programme.
In 2011 she completed her MA in Euroculture at the University of Groningen and the University of Göttingen. During her MA studies she completed an internship in the Press & Culture department of the Dutch Consulate General in Düsseldorf where she managed the external communication of the culture campaign NL-RUHR on the occasion of the European Capital of Culture RUHR.2010. After working for six months as coordinating assistant with the Euroculture Programme in Goettingen, she started to work in the international office at the University of Aachen.
