Orientation Week

STUDIUM_Events Orientation Week is an essential part of the support offered to our new students. It takes place a week ahead of a new semester and combines information and social events to make sure that our students settle in.

The week starts with an introduction to the Department, a campus tour and an informal lunch get-together with the coordinator for international MA-students, members of the teaching staff, the international student assistant and other advanced students. During the week, we carry out so-called ‘diagnostic tests‘ in English language practice, literature and linguistics that help us determine where our new students stand. Following this, and based on our students’ interests, we help each student create a timetable for the first semester. Moreover, we provide introductions to Life at a German University, How to Use Stud.IP and Ecampus, a city tour, and a number of social events.
