Chen Fangjia (China)

My name is Fangjia Chen and I’m from Hangzhou, China. I’ve studied Business English for my bachelor. Humanity studies always attracts me and so does Europe. As such, after a recommendation from my supervisor, I decided to apply for Euroculture. I spent her first and second semesters at Strasbourg and Göttingen before following the research track at the Department of International Relations and International Development, University of Groningen in the Netherlands, and opted for the last semester in gettingen to finish my thesis, meanwhile i resided in the netherlands to continue my internship.

academic wise, this masters offered me a wonderful opportunity to experience three completely different types of study environments. I got to, and I must adapt myself into different kinds of teaching, learning styles, which largely improved my competences and my adaptivity. in addition to that, being a non-EU student in this program is never easy, especially in dealing with all the bureaucratic visa stuffs. I can’t remember the times that I had troubles in dealing with them, however, neither can I forget the times that I was helped by my colleagues, who helped me to make phone calls, translate documents and etc. I had a privilege to meet so many nice people during two years study in abroad and eventually became life long friends.
