Dr. Renata Callegari Ferrari

Scientist

I am interested in plant responses to the environment, including both abiotic and biotic factors. By exploring the physiological and genetic basis allowing plants to respond and adapt, I seek to contribute to a better understanding of the plant metabolism, and to create strategies that may be useful for bioengineering or conservation purposes. More specifically, I am interested in photosynthesis and carbon concentrating mechanisms, especially in a drought stress context.

Currently, I am focused on photosynthetic responses in barley under drought and varying potassium availabilities. I was awarded a Georg Forster Fellowship from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation for this project.
