As the curator and managing director of SAG Culture Collection of Algae at Göttingen University I am involved in research and teaching of diverse phycological topics. My research focuses on the isolation, cultivation, preservation and identification of microalgae as well as cyanobacteria. Based on my research experience in methodological and digital development of algal resources I aim to constantly develop the SAGs holdings and related metadata. My current orininal research hones in the response of microalgae to environmental stress gradients, algae in ecotoxicity and biotechnology, algal genomics and using artificial intelligence for algal identification.
