Seminar’s objectives:
We all have to present our research frequently at conferences or at more informal, internal gatherings. In order to facilitate the preparation and delivery of such academic presentations, we offer a practical two-day course in Academic Presenting (in English). The course will explore both the rhetorical means that make a presentation effective as well as important elements of structure, spoken language and style.
The second weekend will have the character of a workshop which means that you can give a real presentation you are working on at the moment in order to receive intensive feedback for improvement from the group as a whole. It is also possible to attend only the first or the second weekend (though they are, of course, connected to each other).

Requirements: good command of spoken English
Workload: 30 hours

Deadline for application: starts February 17th 2010 until April 3rd 2010
