SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS AND GOALS

What draws me to neuroscience is its relevance to the human condition. The complex neural activity underlying everyday life’s activity is flawless, until one tiny screw in this amazing machine falls off and presents itself in a disorder. I am particularly interested in deepening my understanding of neurodegenerative disorders, traumatic brain injuries and disorders of consciousness, and exploring how the combination of imagining methods and neurophysiology can support diagnosis and treatment. How do neuroplasticity and neural network dynamics shape healthy brain function? I am also curious to use and develop computational models and tools, and interested in exploring the potential of neurotechnology for studying the human brain. In the short term, however, I would like to expand outside of the cognitive and computational neuroscience, and zoom down to a molecular and cellular levels.
