SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS AND GOALS

The signaling pathways and their regulation has been a focal point of research in biology, yet most of the mechanisms have not been fully understood and many diseases arise from the dysregulation of such pathways. One regulatory phenomenon in signaling pathways that I find interesting is the phosphorylation of the participating proteins involved whose dysregulation primarily leads to different forms of cancer. I aim to study the different processes of protein modifications involved within the cells and their role in regulating cell signaling in greater detail.
