Additional Informations

Arrival Support

The Office of Student Affairs (International Student Services) provides a pick-up service from the railway station to the city (the "Gretel Service") and an orientation week for new international students that provides general information on the city and the university.

Services and Support for International Students

The Office of Student Affairs (International Student Services) supports international students in administrative affairs, e.g. registration at the university and the foreigners' registration office, in finding suitable health insurance, in financial matters; it also mediates between students and other institutions. Additionally, it offers a wide cultural programme, e.g. cross-cultural evenings, courses in different languages, excursions, films and Latin American dance classes, theatre and opera visits.

Accommodation

The Office of Student Affairs (International Student Services), in collaboration with the "Studentenwerk", helps students seeking accommodation in Göttingen. Many international students live in student residence halls. The residence halls have single apartments or shared apartments with individual rooms. There are also apartments available for couples and families with children. However, students in the programme "Intercultural Theology" may wish to live on the campus of Hermannsburg, where most of the classes take place and convenient accommodation is provided.
