Time to Choose Your Modules!
Our Master programme is so comprehensive and at the same time so flexible that it is difficult for students to choose modules and corresponding courses. It takes a while to get the hang of it. We are very much aware of this, and we want to support you as best as possible. Of course we are happy to discuss your timetables with you, but we think that you should explore your options beforehand. This is what this website aims at. Click on the dropdown menu that describes your current study status best. In the box that opens you will find our Module-O-Matic tool that guides you step by step through choosing modules. It also contains brief introductions how to find courses that fit. Module-o-Matic for students starting their studies with us
The Module-o-Matic is a tool for choosing modules. It aims at students about to start their studies. It is best viewed in fullscreen mode. Click on the corner arrows icon in the top left corner of the guide below to switch to fullscreen. Important: Many mobile phones are annoyed by the tool and refuse to resize the windows properly. Module-o-Matic for students approaching their second semester
The Module-o-Matic is a tool for choosing modules. It aims at students approaching their second semester of studies, with around 18 to 24 credits already completed. It is best viewed in fullscreen mode. Click on the corner arrows icon in the top left corner of the guide below to switch to fullscreen. Important: Many mobile phones do not overly like the tool and refuse to resize the windows properly. If this happens to you, please click here to open a new tab/window.
Please note: The Module-o-Matic is aimed at students enrolled in the Single Honours MA programme.

- If you do a Joint Honours - ELLC as a major, plus a module package - largely the same rules apply, but you only complete 42 credits for ELLC so need to collect courses accordingly and leave room for modules from your second major. Please make sure, once you have pencilled in all the modules you intend to take, that they are indeed open to you (see the information brochure and/or the module directory).
- If you do ELLC, Anglophone Literature and Culture or Language in Focus as a second major, different rules apply. We do not have very many students enrolled in the module packages, so the Module-o-Matic does not cater for them. Please check the information brochure and/or the module directory for which modules are open to you, and ask Dr. Reitemeier or Frau Nambula for assistance.

The Module-o-Matic is a tool for choosing modules. It aims at students approaching their third or a higher semester of studies, with around 42 or more credits already completed. It is best viewed in fullscreen mode. Click on the corner arrows icon in the top left corner of the guide below to switch to fullscreen. Important: Many mobile phones are very critical of the tool and refuse to resize the windows properly.
