Dr. Amrei Binzer
Due to anthropogenic and natural causes the species composition in the earth's ecosystems is shifting at an increasing rate.
I am interested in complex species interactions and communities facing change. This change can be alterations in species composition, for example after extinctions or invasions, or changing environmental conditions such as warming. Using dynamic computer simulation I aim to develop risk scenarios and simple prediction-models that can help conservation efforts to protect ecological communities and maintain their functioning. I want to understand the dynamics and function of complex species compositions.
