External Advisory Board on Internationalisation of the University of Göttingen

The Advisory Board on Internationalisation of the University of Göttingen consists of renowned national and international experts in the areas of internationalisation of higher education. About half of the advisory board members are associated with strategic partners of the University of Göttingen’s strategic partners, such as the Göttingen Campus, the U4 Network, the Coimbra Group and the European University Association. "The great success and added value through the exchange with the Advisory Board is already noticeable", says Dr. Uwe Muuss, head of the International Office.

On the annual meetings, the university's President and especially Prof. Hiltraud Casper-Hehne, Vice-President for International Affairs, invite various representatives of the university to report on their international activities and to discuss their further developments.

On the 9th of September two meetings with the involvement of Advisory Board members took place: Prof. Hans de Wit and Prof. Betty Leask gave a lecture on "Internationalisation of the Curriculum: Context, Concepts, Forms, and its Assessment" and discussed with deans of studies, executive assistants of the deans of studies, internationalisation officers, and coordinators of international programmes of the University of Göttingen. Prof. Jane Knight was invited to a round table on "Early Career Researchers at Göttingen University" by the Graduate School of Humanities (GSGG).

After the kick-off meeting of the External Advisory Board (EAB) on February 10th, 2014 and the 2nd meeting on September 8th, 2014, where the EAB was familiarised with the University of Göttingen's (UGOE) strategic development and international strategy, the 3rd EAB meeting took place on September 21st, 2015 at the Paulinerkirche. The meeting was followed by one additional event: Prof. Jane Knight gave a two-hour presentation on the topic of current trends in Internationalization of Higher Education around the world for UGOE staff.
