After my undergraduate studies of Economics and Cultural and Social Anthropology (University of Goettingen), I completed Master?s degrees in Financial Systems and Economic Development (SOAS, University of London) and International Economics with a focus on Development Economics (University of Goettingen). During my studies, I interned with GIZ both in Botswana focusing on regional economic integration and in Germany focusing on financial systems development. As part of my master thesis, I worked as a research assistant with GIGA on Micro and Small Enterprises in Kampala, Uganda.

In September 2015, I started working as a Research Fellow in the Project Risk, Investment, and Poverty: Dynamics of Micro and Small Firms in Developing Countries, where I am in charge of coordinating yearly data collection among 500 Micro and Small Enterprises in Kampala, Uganda. My dissertation focuses on growth factors and growth obstacles among these firms.
