Goal 1 - No poverty

End poverty in all its forms everywhere

The first Sustainable Development Goal is fighting poverty globally. It aims to eradicate extreme (monetary) poverty of all human beings by 2030. Furthermore, the social protection systems of all countries are to be developed. Everyone should have access to fundamental resources and services, such as soil, technologies and financial services. Likewise, the resilience of particularly vulnerable people regarding climate-related extreme events and other catastrophes must be increased.
To reach these goals, the mobilisation of resources, for instance development assistance, should be ensured. Sound policy frameworks on the basis of pro-poor and gender-sensitive development strategies should be advanced at the national, regional and international levels.*
