Colombia
Colombia is located in the north of South America. Its natural beauty is diverse: high mountain ranges, tropical rainforests and beaches. Colombia is also known for its rich cultural history as well as its famous coffee. Politically, the country has been shaped by the peace process since the peace agreement of 2016, which many see as an important step in settling and coming to terms with the internal conflict. The University of Göttingen has two key partnerships with the Universidad Nacional de Colombia and the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, both in the capital Bogotá. The UNAL also has seven other campuses throughout the country.

Universidad Nacional de Colombia, BogotáThe Universidad Nacional de Colombia was founded in 1867. It is now a large research university with different campuses spread throughout Columbia. UNAL belongs to the Golden Triangle of higher education, which means that it is one of the most selective and competitive universities in the country.
