Introduction Week / O(rientation)-Phase

The faculty welcomes new students of the English-language Master's programmes Forest and Ecosystem Sciences (FES) and Sustainable Forest and Nature Management (SUFONAMA) with an orientation phase in the week before lectures begin. During the "O-Phase" you will get to know the faculty and receive all the information you need for a successful start to your studies: How do I register for courses? Is there a timetable? Which elective modules do I choose? How do the lectures work? (Therefore, please refrain from individual enquiries on these topics in advance).

FAQ

We strongly recommend that you take part in the Introduction week. Here you will get to know your fellow students, with whom you will be studying for the next few years, in a very informal way. Older students will tell you some tricks of the trade for your studies and show you around the campus and the city. Last but not least, the faculty and its professors will introduce themselves and you will get an organisational overview of your degree programme. The introduction week will make it much easier for you to start your studies.
You will find documents/videos on the organisation of studies in the respective O-Phase event on StudIP. Read through these thoroughly or watch them. In the first few weeks, attend all the compulsory courses and talk to your fellow students. If you have questions about the organisation of events, talk to the lecturers directly. Many things can be clarified this way. If necessary, you can contact the student advisory service.
