Projects

Here are the International Writing Lab’s ongoing projects, realized in interdisciplinary collaboration with partner institutions.

For more than 15 years, the International Writing Lab has been offering the “Academic Writing Partnerships” program, which is open to all students at the university and focuses on intercultural exchange paired with writing process experiences in small groups. In the winter semester 2025/2026, the writing partners, supported by staff from Forum Wissen, will write texts related to topics covered in the “Atelier” at Forum Wissen as part of the project. For more about 2WiSch.
The trAIns project (2025-2026) is funded as part of Enlight. As part of the project, the International Writing Lab will offer “Virtual Exchange: Using AI Generated Translation Deliberately and Responsibly across (Language) Borders” twice during the winter semester 2025-2026. It is aimed at students of all disciplines from Göttingen, Ghent, Tartu, and other Enlight universities.
The focus is on the reflective and responsible use of AI translation tools in multilingual studies and intercultural communication. In international teams, participants develop strategies for using AI in a meaningful, ethical, and conscious way to bridge language barriers—without losing critical thinking and linguistic sensitivity.
