liveSciences³ Summer Campus 2022

Shaping Future Landscapes − Perspectives for Trees, Cows & Snails

What is the Summer Campus about?

The Summer Campus offers you hands-on experiences related to current and future management of cultural and (semi-) natural landscapes. Keynotes from passionate scientists will provide insides and global perspectives on transformations of landscapes and changes for Shaping Future Landscapes. During field excursions, and while working on a chosen project, you are encouraged to discuss Perspectives for Trees, Cows and Snails with fellow students.
We invite you to extend your digital competences to document your own (field) observations and research results. The unique social events will complete the exciting program of the liveSciences³ Summer Campus 2022.

Participation is open to all students from the liveSciences³ partner universities:

  • Georg-August University of Göttingen, Germany
  • University of Rennes 1, France
  • Free University Amsterdam, Netherlands
  • Aarhus University, Denmark
  • University of Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina
  • University of Talca, Chile
  • Costa Rica Institute of Technology, Costa Rica

The Summer Campus is offered as a block course within the framework of the module Local Solutions for Global Challenges at the University of Göttingen. All students, including international students, will receive a certificate of attendance and 3 ECTS upon successful completion of the course.

Impressions from the liveSciences³ Summer Campus – Online Edition 2021

Last year, the liveSciences³ Summer Campus started for the first time. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, most of the event had to be held online. Under the motto live Sciences - share Knowledge, students actively engaged with some of the global challenges.
The event offered input and inspiration from passionate professionals and scientists, as well as guidance and coaching from international experts.
In the video, participants talk about their experiences and provide insights into the Summer Campus - Online Edition 2021.

How to share knowledge? How can you create content in an academic context? Which tools can be used to convey content in an exciting way? That's what the Summer Campus was all about last year. The goal was to create a digital field trip in international teams. In order for the participants to achieve this, they were given workshops on content production, design thinking and science communication. Students designed their own digital field trips as part of three exciting student projects.
