SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS AND GOALS

My previous research mainly focused on structural biology and phase-separation. During the research, I am fascinated by the physical and chemical basis of the organization of cellular components at different scales, in other words, the principles underlying the assembly of individual molecule (protein, DNA, RNA, etc.) and the higher-order organization of these assemblies. Particularly, I am interested in visualizing them using cryo-ET/cryo-EM, which could provide a direct and quantitative explanation of their functions and mechanisms. However, in order to obtain a dynamic view of the spatial-temporal regulation inside cells, hybrid techniques and interdisciplinary backgrounds are needed. I hope that I can master various techniques, consolidate my multidisciplinary knowledge and improve my research abilities during this program.
