SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS AND GOALS

I am fascinated by the intricate regulatory and executive mechanisms that enable the wide variety of cellular functions as this is the context in which it becomes visible how „non-living“ chemical mechanisms can give rise to life. At the moment, I am particularly interested in the spatial regulation of cellular processes and the maintenance of cellular structures. Thus, I would especially like to learn more about how cells can organize and control different spatial areas, how cellular structures can in turn influence other cellular processes and what methods we can use to study these mechanisms.
