SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS AND GOALS

My primary research interest is to investigate the neural underpinnings of complex phenomena such as fear, anxiety, reward processing, or disorders like major depressive disorder and autism spectrum disorder. Using molecular tools, optogenetics, and large scale EEG recordings together; I want to gain insights about the cellular and population level principles by which the brain works and contributes to the emergence of unique phenotypes of each and every person.
