SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS AND GOALS

I am profoundly fascinated by the incredible world of neuroscience. In the future I see myself investigating topics such as learning and memory. I am considering working on problems like synaptic transmission, plasticity and how neural circuits give rise to behavior. The emerging field of brain organoids derived from human induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSCs) and the live monitoring of processes on molecular scale are intriguing to me as well. In addition, I am keen on educating the public for the importance of neuroscience and how can we use the knowledge gained from this field to improve our quality of life. By joining the program, I hope that I will gain the needed theoretical knowledge and practical experience, which will allow me to address a scientific problem in a holistic fashion.
