My main current scientific interest is epigenetics. I am amazed by the complexity of mechanisms that orchestrate a cell's genome and let cells with similar genotypes have different phenotypes. Moreover, knowing these mechanisms can be the key to understanding various diseases such as cancer. I also want to further develop my skills in bioinformatics as I am sure applying a combination of wet and bioinformatic methods in my research is the way to succeed. In my MSc studies, I would like to remain in the general stream of epigenetics but narrow my topic and/or objective, whilemaking my background and lab experience wider. I am also considering studying not only health but disease as well, making my work more applied.
