SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS AND GOALS

Developmental neurobiology has been my field of interest for a long time. When combined with developmental biology, neurosciences can elucidate the underlying mechanisms of stem cell differentiation into neurons and glia, axon guidance in the nervous system and synapse formation. Afterwards, these studies can be integrated with drug development and other types of treatments to cure a related disease. In addition, they can also shine a light on neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's which has become a serious problem in the last decades. Lately, I have also been interested in theoretical/computational neuroscience, specifically in neural information coding, decoding and processing.
