SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS AND GOALS

Having initially been trained as a classical musician, I went to study biology to satisfy my curiosity for the natural world and eventually became drawn to learning about the human mind and brain. I am most interested in neuropsychiatric disorders and their biological underpinnings. Discovering the reasons underlying these disorders and possibly coming up with cures for people in distress would both be fascinating and hugely important. My aim is to do highly translational research that could directly benefit patients suffering from serious mental illness.
