SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS AND GOALS

Neurons and their complex circuits and functions impress me. Different states of mind (awake, asleep, dreams, meditation) and brain plasticity in correlation to external stimulation, learning, memory, the enteric nervous system and the grave issue of pain are topics that are very appealing to me. One of my goals is to understand more of how single components of a cell can organize and enable macroscopic effects like behavior.
