SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS AND GOALS

Genome instability is a known phenomenon observed in cancer cells, contributing to tumorigenesis, disease progression, and therapy resistance. Interestingly, disturbed genome integrity is also a feature of multiple neurologic syndromes, e.g. Alzheimer's or Parkinson's disease. My goal is to contribute to the current understanding of the pathogenic machanisms resulting from defective genome maintenance.
