SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS AND GOALS

My scientific interest is focused on aspects of molecular neuroscience. It is highly fascinating how cognitive information is processed on the molecular level and, subsequently, leads to a behavioral answer. In this complex system relatively small changes lead to serious disorders. My goal is to contribute to improving the treatment of cognitive diseases by gaining more knowledge on mechanisms like signal transduction pathways, synapse formation and synapse plasticity.
